# Make a website in ChatGPT or Claude and deploy it, with no downloads

ChatGPT and Claude can write you a good website in a minute. Then comes the awkward part: you're holding code, and you need a website.

Usually, to deploy it, you'd save the files, find a host and upload them. With Toupas added to your chat, you skip all of it. You ask, and the chat answers with a link.

## Step 1: Add Toupas once

Do this on a computer. The phone apps use what you've added, but can't add it themselves. The address to add is:

```
https://toupas.com/mcp
```

**In Claude:** on claude.ai, open **Settings**, then **Connectors**, and choose **Add custom connector**. Name it Toupas, paste the address, choose **Add**, then **Connect**. Sign in to Toupas and choose **Allow**. This works on every Claude plan; the free plan has room for one custom connector.

**In ChatGPT:** on chatgpt.com, open **Settings**, then **Apps & Connectors**. Under **Advanced settings**, turn on **Developer mode**. Choose **Create**, name it Toupas, paste the address as the server URL, and choose **OAuth**. Sign in to Toupas and choose **Allow**. Custom apps need a paid ChatGPT plan.

If you don't have a Toupas account yet, you can make one during sign-in. On a team plan, an admin or owner may need to add Toupas first. The [setup page](/chat) has the details.

## Step 2: Ask for your website

Be specific about what it's for. For example:

```
Make me a one-page website for my bakery, Sunny Loaves, and put it live with Toupas.
We're in Pune, open 8am to 7pm, closed Mondays. Warm and friendly, with a section
for our top three breads and a button to message us on WhatsApp.
```

The chat writes the site and answers with a link, something like `bakery-sunny-k2p4.toupas.app`. Anyone can open it.

## Step 3: Change it by asking

You don't need to keep the same conversation open. In any chat, on your computer or phone, you can say:

```
Change the opening hours on my bakery website. We now open at 7am.
```

The link stays the same. That's handy when you're away from your desk and a detail needs fixing.

## Getting a better result

- **Give it the real details.** Your actual prices, hours and address beat anything the chat makes up. Check the page for invented details anyway, especially testimonials and numbers.
- **Describe the feel, or point to an example.** "Calm and simple, lots of white space" goes further than "make it nice".
- **Link to your larger photos.** Chats can send logos, icons and small images. Large photos need to be hosted elsewhere and linked.
- **Look at it on your phone.** Most visitors will. Ask for changes if anything looks cramped.

## Using your own name

A new website gets an automatic address. You can pay a small yearly fee for a name you pick, like `bakery.toupas.app`, or connect a domain you already own. Ask in the chat, and it gives you a link to pay in your browser. The chat never pays for anything itself.

## What it can't do

The chat can publish, change, take offline and restore your websites. It can't change your account settings or pay for you; those stay in the [Toupas panel](https://app.toupas.com).

A plain website also can't remember anything. A contact form with nowhere to send its answers is only decoration. If you want a form that saves replies, or anything with a sign-in, you need an app, which you can also [build from a chat](/blog/build-rsvp-app-with-chatgpt-or-claude).

## What it costs

Every new website is free for 30 days, with no card. After that the [Website plan](/pricing) keeps it live, and covers all your websites.
