Build an app with sign-in and saved data in ChatGPT or Claude
Describe the app in your chat, and it goes live at a link anyone can open, with sign-in, saved data and rules for who can see what. There's no code to run and no server to set up.
How it works
- Add Toupas to ChatGPT or Claude, once.
- Ask: “Make me an RSVP app for my party and put it live with Toupas. Guests sign in and add their RSVP. They only see their own, and I see them all.”
- The chat answers with your link, and tells you who can do what. Change anything later just by asking, in any chat.
What your app gets
- Sign-in by email code. No passwords for anyone to lose. Let anyone sign up, or only people you invite.
- A real database of its own. Nothing is shared with other apps.
- Rules Toupas enforces. Per list, and per field: public, signed-in people, the person who added it, or roles you name.
- An admin page at your app's
/_admin, to see the data, manage people and download everything. - Your own name or domain, like any Toupas app.
Questions
What can I build this way?
Apps that save things and control who sees them: RSVP lists, waitlists, guestbooks, simple CRMs, trackers for a team, and member directories.
Who can see the data?
You choose in the chat. Each list has its own rules, like “guests add their RSVP and see only their own, and only I see them all”. When the app goes live, the chat tells you the rules in plain words, and Toupas enforces them on the server.
Does the chat see what people save?
No. The chat can see the shape of your data and how many rows there are, never the rows or anyone’s details. You see those on the app’s admin page.
What can’t it do?
Custom server logic: taking payments, webhooks, secret keys, scheduled jobs, or calling an AI model from the app. When you need those, you can move the app to code and open it in an editor.
What happens when I move it to code?
You get the whole app as ordinary code. Your data, the people using it and your links stay as they are. Once you make that code live, chats can no longer update the app, and you can’t undo that. Just downloading the code changes nothing.
Is my data backed up?
Yes, nightly, to a separate place from the server. You could lose up to a day of changes if something goes badly wrong, so download a copy of anything important from the admin page.
What does it cost?
Free for 30 days, then the App plan. Each app runs on its own, so it uses memory from your plan. See prices.
